For this unit, insteadof having a test, you will have the opportunity, nay, th privilege, of doing a project to show how much you have learned,and how deep your understanding is of the war and the impact it had on the world.  For this project, you will choose one of the following topics:

 

1) It is said that WWI was the "Death of the OLd order" (the old order being the way society was structured before the war).  How did WWI "kill" the Old Order, and what changed for society?

 

2) The war caused catastrophic destruction and tens of millions of deaths, but there were also many positive advancments in society and technology that probably wouldn't have happened before the war.  Was the war worth it?

 

You can respond to these topics and show what you’ve learned in any form you choose (i.e. art, music, fiction, interpretive dance, video, drama, essay, finger puppets, song, poetry etc).  Remember that I am looking for evidence of deep understanding, as well as creativity and insight.  Have fun.
